The milling demonstrations are a fantastic opportunity to experience the art of flour making in our 17th-century water-powered mill. Starting from grain to end product you get the chance to experience all the clanks crashes and rumbles as the mill's stones do their work.
The water-powered mill grinds wheat in the traditional way. The white and wholemeal flours are traditionally stone-ground on a pair of 19th Century “French Burr” stones all powered by a cast iron water wheel installed in 1865.
Whilst there, why not sample some bread freshly baked on our wood-fired oven, made with the flour produced at the Mill. Not only do you get the chance to see the flour being produced you will also get the chance to turn the flour into your very own bread bun with our wonderful bun on the run bread oven.
Free admission. Demonstrations from 10am - 2pm.
