Improved walks around Worsbrough Mill Country Park

Improvements have been made to one of the most eroded sections of footpath around the wet woodland at Worsbrough Mill Country Park. A ceremony has taken place to launch the installation of a new raised boardwalk near the old stone bridge, which will greatly improve accessibility for site visitors

Have a cracking time at Worsbrough Mill Christmas carol concert

Visitors will be warmly welcomed to the Worsbrough Mill Christmas Carol Concert on Sunday 20 December. The free annual event, which has been organised by the Friends of Worsbrough Mill in association with Worsbrough Brass, looks set to be a wonderful event and the perfect way to begin the festive season. From 1.30pm until 3pm there will be a heart-warming carol concert, tasty treats of mulled wine, mince pies and stollen cake as well as good old fashioned sing-a-long. Cllr Roy Miller, Cabinet Spokesperson for Place, said: “Worsbrough Mill is a lovely place to visit all year round. During the winter months there are some lovely sights to behold in the country park. Unwrapping lots of fun at Barnsley Museums this Christmas

Barnsley Museums will be unwrapping a bursting package of family fun this Christmas. During the holiday season visitors will have a great time at Cannon Hall Museum, park and gardens, Worsbrough Mill, Experience Barnsley, Cooper Gallery and Elsecar Heritage, all operated by Barnsley Council.

FOOTPATH IMPROVEMENTS WILL ALLOW BETTER ACCESS AT WORSBROUGH MILL

A new boardwalk is being built around wet woodland at Worsbrough mill and country park, in order to allow better access for those visiting. The public footpath around the reservoir, near stone bridge, will be closed from Monday 30 November with work expected to last for approximately three weeks, although this timescale is dependent on the weather.

Prepare to be scared at Worsbrough Mill this Halloween

Following reports of supernatural sightings, the Pan Paranormal Investigation team will be leading Ghost Walks around Worsbrough Mill on Saturday, 31 October. Beginning at 6pm, the team will take those brave enough to take part on an investigation around one of Barnsley’s most haunted historic sites.
