Important Update

Following the government’s announcement on the new national restrictions we would like to let you know that we be closing the doors to the inside spaces of our museums and galleries on Wednesday 4 November until restrictions are lifted.

This includes;

  • The Cooper Gallery
  • Cannon Hall Museum
  • Elsecar Heritage Visitor Centre
  • Barnsley Archives and Local Studies

Experience Barnsley Museum and buildings at Worsbrough Mill will also remain closed during this time.

Our outside spaces will remain open for you offering a safe space at a time when they are needed most for moments of relaxation, reflection and exercise.

The beauty and nature found in our parklands and country park can have a positive impact on wellbeing and we hope that we can bring some comfort during these difficult times.

Remaining open will be:

Cannon Hall Parklands – car park, children’s play area, café (for take always only) and toilets

Worsbrough Mill Country Park - car park, children’s play area, café (for takeaways only) and toilets. Flour will be available from Worsbrough Mill via click and collect on Wednesdays and Sundays only and can be ordered online via ShopAppy https://shopappy.com/barnsley/worsbrough-mill-flour/

At Elsecar Heritage Centre, a small number of shops are classed as essential and will remain open, including Paul’s Natural Foods, Maison Du Biere and our cafes for takeaways only. Others will continue to offer a high quality online service, deliveries and drop-offs. Selected shops are expected to offer a click and collect service.
